Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice.

Peter and the Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan that tells the story of how these beloved characters came to be. Act 1 is set on two ships, the Wasp and the Neverland, while Act 2 takes place on a jungle island. The story is told by an ensemble of actors who switch between narrating the story and inhabiting their characters. Lighting, creative blocking, and spirited imagination helped the space transform from two ships in battle, the depths of the jungle, a prison-like hold in the bowels of a ship, or many other locations visited throughout the script.
This production utilized a unit set. My focus for the lighting was to establish a clear sense of place for each of the different locations in the script. Defined color palettes for each location and differences in intensity helped guide the audience's focus throughout the story.
